About Maria Sirois
Between these two poles the most resilient of us and the happiest of us work and live. Decades of study in the intersections of positive psychology, resilience and leadership development all lead me to understand that paradoxes of being are the essence of growth. We are capable of being fully, imperfectly human and magnificent. Faulted and astonishing. Exhausted, frustrated, heartbroken and generative.
My work is all about building capacity in the presence of those paradoxes such that we become more of our better selves: better leaders, friends, community members, parents, guides, coaches and participants on the planet.
Books
"It takes a master storyteller and an extraordinarily sensitive soul to speak about loss and happiness in proximity to one another. Maria Sirois, by drawing on personal experience, research, and a lot of heart, can help us all navigate through life's most difficult experiences, so that we can find our way to safety, and even to happiness."
Tal Ben-Shahar, Author of Happier
"Life is harsh, crazy, capricious and unjust, and wondrous, surprising, bountiful, and beautiful. Both are true. How we navigate these realities is the challenge of living today. We cannot adhere only to despair else we dismiss all that is life-giving. Nor can we deny the awfulness of life; that would be delusional. We must find a way, within ourselves and with each other to acknowledge, recognize and diminish the dark wherever we can while elevating the good."
