Loneliness, Connection and Art


A friend sent this yesterday and I found it so powerfully true - whenever I've sat down to create anything I've had to find a balance of solitude and connection and not judge myself for either longing, but rather use both ways of being in the world to continue to shape the work.  This is true for me in speaking and in writing and in the tiny little elementary watercolor creations I show only to my children.  And imagine how different our worlds might have been if we knew this when we were young and just beginning to create...
